福島物語 - 第5 話 鶴ヶ城 ( 日本語↓) Fukushima Stories Episode 5 Tsuruga Castle Each year in April,over 1000 sakura bloom around Tsuruga Castle making it one of the most beautiful castles for sakura viewing in Japan. In 2010,when I visited Tsuruga castle,I was very lucky to attend the cherry blossom festival with beautiful weather and sakura in full bloom. This is a festival where people from all over Fukushima came together to carry the mikoshi ( a portable Shinto shrine) and walk through the streets,then back to the castle. The weather was good on both days,I was very happy chasing the Mikoshi to take photos, there were many  Mikoshis from different towns and villages. On the last day,when the mikoshi landed inside the castle,I walked close by one to take a close up photo,an old man smiled at me and wanted to take a look at the pictures I took,he said," This is the first time in over 20 years,we have the festival with sakura in full bloom and good weather." I have never attended a sakura viewing festival on such scale before,and to see so many people screaming in joy around me was certainly a very impressive experience. " you took good photos,perhaps you would also like to take photos of the festival in our town,we have a big festival where people dressed in old samurai amours and race on wild horses,you would like it very much." he then gave me his email and to contact him for my visit,he works for the farmer's association and often comes to Tokyo.  I wanted to go very much,must be interesting to take such photos. The festival is in July,unfortunately,I had a flu that year and was not feeling well,I thought I would go the next year...2011. Little did I know then that 2011 would never be the same...that the lives of all these joyful people I met on that beautiful April day would be altered...The old man is  from the town of Soma,.....one of the worst hit coastal towns in the Tsunami...!!  The festival he invited me to is the ""Soma nomaoi"  Perhaps," God  made the world round

" I am sure many of you must know the answer to this, "5 cm per second "...which is also the title of my favorite anime. A movie about the distance between people. 福島物語 - 第6話 鶴ヶ城 ( 日本語↓) Fukushima Stories Episode 6 Tsuruga Castle I guess now the sakura is blooming in Fukushima again,this morning I saw in the news a picture of some residents looking through a metal fence with sakura blooming on the other side to perhaps a home they could not return. European Diary 2013 (日本語版は英語版に続きます⬇）  ヨーロッパ日記 2013 Day 23 The Fire of friendship    23日目 友情の炎 Day 23 was my last night in Mykonos, I wanted to take a picture of the harbor and the windmills from the hills but I did not know how to get to the right spot.  To prepare for sunset, I started my search for the location in the afternoon.  Climbing up the hills behind the harbour, I first went through a  charming hotel with different levels cutting into the rocks, the top level is the reception and cafe, next to the cafe stands an old church. Perhaps it is where those photos were taken? I looked around but was afraid to stop for long, thinking that if I return after dark, no one would see me and I could set up my tripod to take photos. I went back and walked around the village waiting for the sun to set, hoping to see Petros one more time. Unfortunately, my love was no where to be found....With a half broken heart, I returned to the hills. The lights were now on, from the reception, one could see the garden and the old church clearly, I was afraid to set up my tripod there since I was not a guest of the hotel. I had no choice but to keep on walking up the hill until I could find a spot where there were little trees and branches. I set up my tripod and start taking photos, the harbor with the windmills illuminated with different colored lights on the hills were most beautiful after sunset. I could have stood there all night to take photos but it was getting a bit chilly, I only had a light cotton dress on. Still I did not want to go and continued to take photos. I took out a big  lace scarf from my camera bag and wrapped around myself. The night wind was blowing, I have forgotten that some days it could be so warm in the day time but rather chilly at night, I should have at least bought a sweater with me..then I remember a story I read: A man called Ali is in need of money and asks his boss to help him out. His boss sets him a challenge: if he can spend all night on the top

The Four seasons of Japan （日本語↓) 日本の四季 This was the second day I went back to the same location trying to take this photo,I was hoping for a clear sky but the moment I got out from the metro,I realized that clouds covered most of the sky...and from my camera,it looked yellowish..but I thought it is kind of pretty,pink and white sakura illuminated by colored light against a yellow sky,how surreal!...almost like sakura fantasy... これは私がこの写真を撮ろうとして場所と同じ場所に戻って2日目のこと、晴天を期待していたのだが、地下鉄から降りた瞬間、雲が空の大半を覆っていることに気がついた・・・そしてカメラからは、それは黄色がかって見えました・・・しかし、私には、それが、なんとなく綺麗に見えました、黄色っぽい空に対してピンクと白色のイルミネーションが桜に当たって現実離れして見え・・・ほとんど桜の幻想のようでした・・・ Other photos are available in my page,thank you!! 他の写真は下記の私のページにアップしていますので、よろしくお願いいたします。https://www.facebook.com/midoriphoto
